Why I Chose Journalism

My Name Is Melinda Rogers. I live in Memphis, Tennessee. Memphis is struggling to remain a safe and beautiful City. I want to be a journalist because I desire to make a difference in my community by presenting fact-based news in an unbiased way. I am concerned with the increasing level of opinion and editorial content produced and packaged as news today. I desire to create content that is well researched and presented in a form as objective as possible. Through the lens of objective journalism, I intend to increase civic engagement and make Memphis a safer and better place to live.
